Australian applying for UK work permit

I am an Australian working in the UK, I will be returning to Australia to apply for a work permit to gain entry clearance back into the UK. Does anyone know how long this process should take once I submit my paperwork in Australia? They say 99% in the first month, however I have been told there are delays. Thank you.

This forum is really about things for what happens in Oz Guy and not really with what could happen for Aussies going to the UK.

But that said, I'd reckon it'll be a bit like here and will depend on visa type you're after and making sure your application is compliant.

I do recall something in the media a year or so ago how the UK was tightening up to make sure their own unemployment wasn't going to rise with European workers coming in re EU arrangements so you may find it is not going to be so straightforward.

Have you in fact checked out the eligibility requirements for it'll likely be they will be asstringent as ours.

Think their immigration comes under the Home Office but Visa and embassy information for all countries - Projectvisa.com will likely have links.

Hi Wanderer,

Thanks for your reply. Yes I am eligable and am in the process as we speak. It's the process in Australia than I am enquiruing about but I am not sure there is a forum in the UK that is similar. I will keep looking.

Thanks.

Whilst you may lodge a visa application here it'll still be UK regs that govern the process and you might get a good idea of that, even to how it'll be dobe by the people here by contacting the relevant department over there before returning.
