Loosing Australian Citizenship after living outside Australia for certain years

Dear Friends,

After I took Australia citizenship, I left to Japan and have been living here
on marriage visa since then. I heard from one of my friend that I may loose my Australian citizenship, if I do not return to Australia with certain years. Does anyone in this forum have any idea about this or could anyone provide me with link where I can find information about it?

Thank you in advance.

You won't lose your Australian citizenship for living outside Australia. If you are concerned about it, contact the Australian embassy in Japan.

Your friend have may gotten mixed up with Australian permanent residents living outside Australia.
