Backpakker Tax again

Wouldn't you think that they would check if it was legal or not first?

I wonder if this would then also have a flow on effect to the increase in tax payable on DASP for WHV. It increased to 65% on July 1 2017 on the taxable componenet, which Majority of WHV who do a DASP will probably only have a taxable componenet.

I also wonder what kind of effect this will have in people attempting to claim back the tax if it is considered unlawful, we were lucky, our agent worked it out and we would have only gotten an extra $200 tops back if the law had not been in. Now applying for the medicare exemption, if we had done that, that would have made a difference.

I think it would flow on to the tax on the DASP (as it is a tax and targeted Work Holiday Makers at a different rate).
