Question Citizenship doc requestd

Hi,

I received letter in mail from immigration today, asking for "Full Birth Certificate showing parents name" and problem i don't have one. I am from India and moved to Australia 15 years ago with family. My parents never registered my birth in village register so, cannot get one from India.

Just wondering, if anyone in forum have had this situation before. Can they recommend anything? Can consulate help with issuing birth certificate based on passport? If yes, is it validate document?

Thanks in advance
Jas
