Tourist visa after applying 143 visa

Hi All,

We are preparing to lodge visa 143 for my parents who are in Australia. We are preparing our application without a migration agent's assistance at this stage.
We would like our parents to stay in the country while we are waiting for a result or an update and would plan to apply for a visitor visa 600 straight after 143.
While we were checking online there are 4 types of subclass 600 visa's available. We want to apply for a 12 month or longer stay if possible.
Any suggestions or ideas, please?

You’d be applying under the tourist stream. While parents of Australian citizens or permanent residents can be granted tourist visas for up to 3 years, they are generally not allowed to spend more than 12 months in Australia in any 18 month period. If they are already here they would not be granted more than 12 months less time already spent in Australia.
