Impact of job loss on filed visa applications

Hi All,
I have just joined the group. I am an IT professional working in UAE. I have applied for australian immigration against Skilled Independent (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 175). After getting the positive assessment from ACS, I filed my case with DIAC on 30th June, 2009. Unfortunately, I lost my job in August and am not yet able to find another. Would it effect my case with DIAC? Do they consider the credentials till the date applied or they also consider the current status of the candidate? How should I proceed to cope with this situation. I'll be very grateful for any advice, suggestion or recommendation in this direction.

Can't say how immi would really view the situation though if you met eligibility requirements at the date of application which is the date of assessment, I'd suspect that job loss by itself may not necessarily cause your application to fail unless there was a reason considered by immi to be relevant.

In the application section under after lodging you will find a heading for Change of Circumstances and General Skilled Migration so it would be best to advise them.

Deliberately not doing so could be a reason to reject your application.
