Help Please !! New Member

Hi All.......!

im new here in this forum and i want an advice please!

Im a 31 years old, have wife and one baby living in Qatar originally from iraq , i have a brother living in Sydney and he is a Australian with 4 kids ....

i have finished my study in 2003 in Computer science , and i have worked in Iraq for one year, Jordan 1 years, Dubai 1 year , and now in Qatar for 3 years so far and still working ,i got many positions in my work, as a programmer, IT,Graphic designer ..all my jobs was computing related, i want to apply for immigration to Australia , which visa is suitable for me? 176 Skilled- family sponsor? Or 175 skilled-Independent ? which one is faster to grant? and if i apply for 176 skilled-family should i be in MODL + CSL or just in SOl? and if im under MODL + CSL as a 176 skilled-sponsered is that will make my visa grant faster? or as soon im under family sponsor it will put me in low priority according the new rules?

for now i can have the 110 points which needed for 175 visa , and my job here in qatar can listed under computer professional which is in MODL ....

And what is the different between 176 visa ( family sponsor ) and Skilled Regional Sponsored Visa subclass 475 ( family sponsor) ?

so please advise me

Thnx

The first thing you need to do Exactly is have your qualifications assessed by ACS to have a particular IT occupational category assigned, most if not all being on the CSL.

You'll find ACS website/contact details at the rear of the Skilled Occupations List [SOL] and I'd suggest you could learn something from having a look at recent threads by MSD, a similar situation to your own there.

As to what'll be quickest, have a look at sticky threads #3 & #4 re processing priorities and other than a job offer and employer sponsorship, it would seem CSL and State nomination at Priority #2 could be best you could aim at.

Visa Options – Professionals and other Skilled Migrants – Workers – Visas & Immigration for visa options but a 475 with family sponsorship will only be applicabl;e if sponsor lived in a region.

Skilled – Independent (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 175) outlines the points [120] you'll need to achieve, 100 for a 176 and you'll see for both that occupation assessment gives the larger component.
