HK Police Check

Hi guys, I got an email from the IMMI a day ago saying a case No. is assigned to me (FINALLY). I need to do the police clearance and medical check if I haven't done it. I would like to know if I can still use the acknowledgement letter to apply the No criminal record in HK or do I need to send an email to IMMI to request a letter ? The fact is I lodged the onshore application in late Sept 2012, can I still use this acknowledgment letter ? Would anyone please give me an advice ? Tks

(P.S I haven't done anything as I know all report only valid for 12 months and some friends asked me wait until I was told by the IMMI)
