PMV to 820 Waiting Room (2018)

Hi there! I’m starting a new thread here for pmv to 820 (2018) applications. Please share your timeline guys.

PS I'm really sick of checking my email and IMMI account every hour.

That’s good. So they’re looking at your application and a case officer assigned. I don’t know when they’ll get back to me. So silent here maybe because I’m from high risk country.

don't think a particular case officer has been assigned. The sponsorship checks were done by the "Sponsorship Assessment Unit", whereas it's now with the "Partner Assessment Unit"

820 granted today!!!!

Police checks uploaded to my IMMI account last night and got the grant email this morning

All in all, a five month wait from application to grant....glad the wait is over until the next stage in 18 months time!

It used to be that the 820 was granted fairly quickly from the PMV. The reasoning is that since they'd already granted the PMV, it was just a matter of getting married and then showing the ongoing relationship for the 820. In my opinion, it makes sense that the 820 should be granted without the long waiting times due to having to do the PMV first (and the waiting associated with that). Well done on a 5 month grant! I recall when it would only take a month or two from PMV to 820.

Oh for the days of quicker visa grants. LOL!

Please update your flag here .

FiancÚ is arriving in a couple of weeks on her PMV and we're getting married a couple of weeks after that

I know that the BVA and 820 allow access to medicare - but whilst we're waiting for the PMV to expire and BVA to kick in or (hopefully) the 820 to be granted am I right in thinking that she doesn't have medicare access?

More to the point is she required to have private insurance whilst waiting for the BVA or 820?

Thanks!

Nope, she is eligible for full Medicare as soon as the application for the 820/801 is made.

So you dont have to wait until the PMV expires or the bridging visa to kick in.

Just print out your 820/801 visa *application* acknowledgment after paying, and that is therefore the required application for PR - full Medicare is available from the day you apply for PR.

Oh great thanks!

Also it used to be that the 801 was granted 2 years after the 820 right? is this still the case?

I suppose what we are wondering is how likely it is to be after marriage/820 application for her to get granted the 801 so she can go back to uni?

I realize that's a bit like how long is a piece of string...

Thanks!
