Hi,

I have lodged student visa on 9th july. I am currently on tourist visa. Have applied for diploma course.

Just wondering how much longer department taking to process onshore student visa applications?

Depends on your passport. Could happen quickly or might take a long time. You can start your course. You can study to three months on a student visa. After your student visa ceases your bridging visa will kick in so you can continue studying.

It is unlikely you will have work rights until the department grants your student visa.

Hi Jeremy,

Can you apply a student visa while you’re in BVA, which will cease in 35 days?
Thank you.
