Don't expect waiting times to improve

I just saw this article, it may explain why waiting times have blown out:
https://www.smh.com.au/politics/fede...20-p4zsp6.html
Likewise this article shows that the opposition seem to be heading down a similar path

And no one cares, unless they are personally affected. Then all hell breaks loose. Blaming the delays on increased scrutiny and security checks will play well with the electorate. The truth is a bit more complicated than that.

There's a lot of politics involved in all this at the moment as immigration is very much a hot potato on the political agenda.

No point in worrying about it as we can't do anything about it. Get on with life meantime and a decision will happen when it happens. There seems to be so many posts up in arms about the increase in processing times. I totally understand the frustration (I'm waiting for a decision myself) but endless posts about how unfair it is and complaining about it is actually becoming more frustrating than waiting for the visa decision!
