Remaining relative visa difference

Hi All,

I am an Australian citizen, I sponsored my parents on 143 visa early this year. They are on a tourist visa in Australia at the moment while they wait for an outcome.
My only brother (age 24) is a student in Australia, his visa expires next month and he does not want to spend his savings to pay for another course and extend his student visa.

Questions are; Is he eligible to apply for a remaining relative visa if I sponsor him? What is the difference between subclass 835 and 115? Will he get a bridging visa after he lodges his application?

Your parents would need to get their PR visas in order for him to apply. Once they get their 143 visas, he may be able to apply if he meets the criteria at the time, but that's likely to be at least 3-4 years away given the processing times for 143 visas.
