GSM 176 subclass- tourist to bridging visa

Hello,

I want to go to australia on GSM skill migration subclass 176
as my brother is citizen there he'll sponser me.
Computing Professional - specialising in Network Security/Firewall/Internet Security * 2231-79

i apply under,i have 2 yr exp in same field.(60+15 points)
30 age point
15 IELTS point
15 Brother sponser point
------------
135 points
-------------
but if i apply offshore i.e from india all process will take more than 1 yr.

Could I go over to Aus on a short -term tourist visa and while there apply for the 176 (Sydney,NSW) when tourist visa runs out, apply for a bridging Visa ?

Does anyone know much about bridging Visas ? if you have applied for an on-shore 176 would a bridging visa allow me to work whilst waiting for a decision on a 176 ?
Would this be a very difficult route ? could it be a realistic option or am I dreaming

Any ideas on the time-line for 176 and has anyone been granted one lately and how long it took to get it ? (I have seen no threads or posts on this of late at all)

I have been on lots of website for bridging visas but can't seem to find the info I need....can any help. Much appreciated.

Thanks

Yes, you are dreaming a bit for Bridging Visas are not applicable to offshore Visas, those that are normally applied for offshore though some can be applied for onshore like the 176 but you do need to be outside of Australia or offshore for it to be granted and no bridging visa.

You need to also have a look at current processing priority info - http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...processing.pdf

You need to have a look at the ACS website re qualification assessment for they have a four year experience requirement from memory, there being a good FAQ section on their web site.

You do not get points for family sponsorship either though it does allow the 176 application once you meet other eligibility requirements and only 100 points are required.

It could still be a slow boat to China so once you have qualifications assessed OK, if your brother can find an employer to be a sponsor for you perhaps the Employer Sponsored ENS may be a suitable route.

dear

first you read carefully

In ACS processing 4 yr exp required for those who applying for extra point (for their exp.)

if you are working in a company from last one yr out of three yr and you have qualification same as you working exp. then you granted 60 points

and if your occupation is in Demand list you required 1 yr exp. only for occupation in demand list extra 15 points.

you can take 15 points in favour of yr work exp. more than 4 yr same field as yr qualification

or

you can also take 15 points if yr occupation is in demand with 1 yr exp in that field.

and i don't want to apply offshore

if im applying onshore with tourist visa which is a substantive visa.

after reaching australia im apply for my GSM visa(PR)
then on basis of that subsatantive visa(GSM) im thinking to apply bridging visa class C which says
"during the processing of an application, made in Australia, for a substantive visa (any visa which is not a bridging visa or criminal justice visa), including merits review of a decision to refuse such an application"
you can stay in australia on bridging visa

so what you wanna say now...........

any help onthis friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

. 886 is certainly different to a 176
. different eligibility criteria too, like having studied in Australia.
. I think you have ACS Qualification assessment mixed with immigration eligibility points.
. The dream could become a nightmare.

You need to read the ACS info and then immi info quite separately and much more carefully than I for it'll be your nightmare, not mine.
