Partner visa help

Hi everyone,
My husband applied for partner visa back in May, it was lodged in Fiji. We did everything through a migration agent here in Adelaide. He was asked to provide he’s medical and police clearance few days after everything was lodged and was also assiged a case officer. We have not heard anything yet back and our migration agent is also not reaching out to the case officer. I have emailed her numerous times to check if there had been any contact. What are our best options from here?
I know it hasn’t even been 6 months, but I have just given birth and he is currently here in visitor visa and have applied to extend it.. MA also mentioned that they are probably not looking at he’s application now that he is here. Is this true?
Any help will greatly appreciated.

The migration agent is required to provide you with updates about any communication with the Department. If there are no new updates or requests from the Department, what do you expect them to do? The file could be handled by different case officers at different times during the process. Most of the time it just sits there, until someone is assigned to continue processing. Unfortunately you can't actually do much "reaching out" to case officers nowadays. Most of the time they don't even provide their name or contact details. It's not as if you can just pick up the phone and ask them to have a look at the file. It has all become quite impersonal.

I know it is a very frustrating process, but unless your agent has been negligent, there is little you can do except wait your turn. Given the long official processing times, there is not much point in lodging complaints after only 6 months.

Me and my Australian partner are on the same situation as you were back in 2017, just wondering if you were able to secure a partner visa successfully.

Your response will mean a lot to us as my partner is pregnant and alone and I want to be there with her as soon as possible..
