She can be born in Malaysia and still be a citizen.

But because you said she's not a citizen, I can assume the other parent is only an Australian PR holder?

I am the mother and an australian citizen by descent. She can only apply for australian citizenship (by descent also) once i have stayed in australia for two years...

i just found form 1022 which i believe i should be filling up to notify them about the birth of my daughter.

And sorry, I only ask questions because sometimes having the full story changes the answers.

If you're adding her to your partner's application, then AFAIK form 1022 should be ok

Do you know then how the fee would work? Had the child been born prior to application, there would have been an extra fee. Wondering if this is a nice little loophole.
