Need expert advice for PR 189 when the candidate is on VISA 482

Hi All,

I am currently working in Australia on work visa 482 started last month. I have submitted EOI in March,2018 with 70 points and I got my 482 visa on 16th Aug,2018. Now I gave the PTE exam and I got 8 band and finally having 80 points, I got the PR invite on 11th October.

Is there a condition that people who are already working in Australia cannot apply for PR for 1-2 years? Case officer might reject the application

There's no such condition. If you've gotten an invitation, you can proceed with a 189 application and if it's granted, it will replace the 482. If it's granted, you should update your employer so they know they are no longer your sponsor.

The section I assume you are referring to relates to permanent employer sponsored visas (186/187), not skilled independent sc. 189.

In my EOI, I have put the Usual country of residence as India but 2 months back, I have come to Australia on 482 work visa.

Based on your guide, I should have updated my usual country of residence as Australia. I forgot to put it. Other details related to employment in Australia is updated in the employment section.

What should I do? Please suggest

Also, could you suggest if marriage certificate sufficient to show relationship b/w me and wife or do I need any other document?
