Exclamation ADVISE PLEASE: Partner Visa 820 - Less than 12 months de facto relationship

Hi everyone,

So my partner and I are planning to apply for partner visa by early December. However, our relationship won't be 12 months until 24 Jan 2019, and my current student visa is expiring on 15 Mar 2019. We moved in by early may, we have registered our relationship and other evidences. I had a first quick consultation with an agent suggesting that we should apply by early Dec, not too close to my visa expiry date.

However, on the online lodgement, page 18 when they ask about the details on the relationship, they asked about the compelling reason for the relationship because it is not yet 12 months. And I have to make 2000 words statement, however I am not sure what to write. We do not have kids.

Does anyone else have similar experience? I would also like some advice.

And if there is any recommendation for any Registered Immigration agent here that does one-off consultation, that would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much!

No need for a 2000 word submission. If you have registered the relationship, you can simply state that when the question comes up on page 18.

Obviously you want to make sure you meet the overall relationship requirements.
