My Health Record Opt Out - Temp Resident?

Hey all,

I was granted temporary residency on shore (820) a few months ago. When I was on Bridging Visa A I started using my Medicare card and am an established patient with a GP and other health professionals. I'm trying to opt out of the My Health Record situation, but it seems like it's only for Australian citizens or people with an ImmiCard.

It would make sense to me that because I use Medicare that I would have a health record but I can't opt out because I don't have an Australian Passport / Australian drivers license (appointment for that is after the opt out date) or an ImmiCard. I tried using my visa approval number but no luck.

Am currently on hold with the call centre dealing with opt outs to ask these same questions.

What do you all think?

Why do you want to opt out?

You could try set up a Mygov account first. mygov.gov.au is a single logon portal to various things including tax, centrlink, medicare and my health record. From there can can at least see whats going on, look at your medicare stuff, see if you have a myhealth record etc. At least that way you have more information that might help get what you want.
