Hi all, I need serious n urgent advice. I am happy yet terribly confused n sad. I am granted Australian PR news via the IMMI Grant Notification email. The email is dated 16 Nov 2018. It also stated that I must 'For first entry, arrive by 21 Nov 2018'
5 days for me to pack n buy an air ticket?
Help!

Wow that's close, usually other users have reported an IED waiver with such a short time frame, did you get such an email?

Otherwise I would make a quick trip to Australia to activate the visa pronto!

Thank U. Amongst other emails, I am not sure if the other email received is considered an IED. It did state the following para though - "Failure to comply with visa conditions can render a visa liable for cancellation under the
Migration Act 1958 and visa holders are encouraged to make their first entry by the initial
entry date."
The words - can and encouraged - do make it seem like a recommendation rather than compliance.

If I were you, I'd make a quick trip. I know the timing is really short, but could that be because your police checks or your medical is expiring? If it were me, I wouldn't want to chance it. Can you contact the CO who approved your visa for clarification? Get something in writing giving you a little more lead time? If not, I'd be on the first plane to Australia that I could get to arrive by that date.
