TSS 482 to PR 189

Hello friends ,

I have a query regarding converting TSS 482 visa to PR 189.
Me and My husband have been granted TSS 482 last month and my husband had started working in OZ for a month now .

We were wondering if there are any obligations in converting our visa to PR 189 . I've heard people saying we need to be in this visa for at least 3 years and only apply then . I would really appreciate if any of you could help in clearing this dilemma for us .

Thanks in Advance .

What you have heard people say is incorrect.

What you may be referring to is the transition to a 186 visa from a 482 which can be done through the transition stream after 3 years employment on the 482.

Regardless of that, you could apply for a 189 visa (independent skilled visa) at any time assuming you meet the criteria and are issued and invitation. Even the 186 you could apply for at any time if your employer is able/willing to sponsor you now and you already meet the criteria for the direct entry stream.

Please update your flag here .

G’day,

Hope you all are doing well.

I'm in process of starting my ACS assignment (Software Engineer),have 11 years’ experience (7 years offshore and 4 years AU onshore) as software engineer starting Jan 2008, wondering if you could assist\guide me with below queries -
-
- Completed Engineering in Electronic and Communication, India - How many years will be deducted by ACS, Do I need to prepare RPL?
- I have recently moved from 457 visa to 482 visa and both the visa were granted for Software Tester – 261314 , I’m planning to apply for ACS under Software Engineer – 261313 ( as my overall years of experience is closely related to software engineer ) – will I be get positive result from ACS.
- I have got my R&R from my current and previous companies with Software Engineer duties on company letter head.
- If I get positive result from ACS as Software Engineer, will there be any challenges raised as my work VISA was granted on Software Tester code.
