Hello all,

I just wanted to try to start a thread for the PMV 300 applied through Ottawa.

I'm hoping to hear from Canadians and people from Central America/Latin American and The Caribbean (like myself); but really anyone can respond to this thread. It isn't limited to Ottawa, I just haven't been seeing much posts from people from my region or Canada.

What has been your experience? <img src="http://www.australiaforum.com/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" class="inlineimg" />

Hi,

My fiance is French but is currently living in Toronto. We lodged his pmv300 May 2019. Got asked for police clearance around June and now we wait. What's your timeline?

Hi Starfish88,

We applied in January 2019. We uploaded everything the same time. I had my police checks done before hand so I submitted it the same day I submitted the application.

I had my medical checks done in February 2019 because I had to travel to another country to get it done.

I never had any contact from immigration but I noticed my police certificate was going to expire. So I got a new one in July 2019.

A few days after I submitted the new police check I got the grant.

It was a 6.5 month wait in all.

My fiance and I have been together long distance for 6 years so I'm very happy that we can finally be together in the same space.

Hi misseswonder, I've seen in another post you're from Barbados, I'm from Mexico my timeline is very similar to yours, except no grant yet. I was wondering if you ever flew to Australia during those six years?
I got my visitor refused in May and I'm scared that they would doubt of our relationship because I haven't visit him in Australia. ( we already travel together in Europe last year)

Hi Misseswonder congratulations on your grant!! been 3mos now since we applied. Haven't heard anything from CO since we submitted the piloce clearance. We are patiently waiting and praying for a news.

I wonder if it has something to do with our NOIM, as we plan to get married next year April.

Hi Chikapu,

Yes I did visit him in Australia last year. I dont think the fact that you haven't been to Australia should stop you from getting the visa if you have seen each other in person. Since you travelled together to Europe I think that should be enough proof of meeting.

Has he visited you in Mexico?

I was told that we needed to show that we are accepted as a couple by the friends and family. And I think its listed too as "joint activities" on the application. Travelling together is a joint activity.

Maybe you can add screenshots of your friends and family reacting to your relationship on Facebook and other social media as proof as well?

The main thing is showing them that your relationship is genuine.

Hi Starfish88,

I dont think the intended married date should be an issue. From a lot of posts I saw I noticed that it's normal to have a good space of time from the date you submit your application as the intended married date. I had mine as December 2019 when I applied in January.

I just kept updating my application with new information every 3 months (I did this twice), I added our trip from March and updated chat and call logs.

I was never contacted by a CO. I just made sure things were up to date.
