Hi lenore , I understand fully how it feels when you are waiting so long while you see others get processed very fast. My fiance is from a HR country and we will hit the 6 month mark of processing November 8. We have just had to lodge a certificate each to prove we are both single and free to marry. My fiance doesn't live in the country that is on his passport so he arranged an authorisation for a friend in his home country to get it for him which only took a few days compared to 2 months if he applied from where he is. Just thought I would let you know this in case you have to go through the same thing and save you some time. I only hope this is the last piece of paperwork we will need before our visa is granted and I truely hope that your visa will be granted as soon as possible too. It gets to a point where you just have to try and keep busy and hope the days go fast so you can be together, we have been apart for over a year now and it just makes you feel numb. Goodluck and best wishes, hope you get some good news soon.

Hi barrbcow,
It is very difficult to be separated for sure.
We did lodge documents to verify our single status in the original application but not the Medical or Form 80 till it was requested 3 months later.
We did have a look at going the tourist visa route as others have suggested to shorten the time away from one another but we assessed this a too big a risk as we are dealing with the rest of our lives and there are too many variables in trying to take a short cut. So ' we hurry up and..... wait '

Kind regards and best wishes to all of us who wait.
