Urgent visa question

Hi everyone,
A researcher from Australia will pay me for a statistic analysis on computer but I'll work in Italy.
He said me that I need a Visa for this paid job (only one month) but I'm not sure because I remain in Italy and I will not be in Australia.

Thanks

That does not sound right, at all.

I'd be a bit wary of that.

Thank you.

I trust him, because I did some volunteer researches in 2017 with him. Now he'd like to give some work and He has a pleasure to pay me...
He suggest to have a VISA again, but I don't know which one.
Some of you told me ''you don't need any VISA'' other '' you need...'' mumble mumble...

A visa (from the Latin charta visa, meaning "paper that has been seen")[1] is a conditional authorization granted by a country to a foreigner, allowing them to enter, remain within, or to leave that country.

You definitely don't need a VISA if you work from Italy.

Ask him to obtain a visa for you if he insists to see if he needs you to send him money first......

Australian businesses often use overseas workers to carry out work for them, in their home country. I feel sure they don't get or need a visa for that.

In fact, I'm sure there isn't even a visa to do so.

You need a visa to enter Australia. Some of these visas allow working in Australia, others do not.

1,000's of people work in call centres overseas, answering Australian callers.
They do not need a Visa.
