No, you'd do your NPC check in your married name. Then, there's a section that asks for previous names. You put previous names (including maiden name) in that section. You don't need ID in your maiden name.

I am Australian living in the USA and my hubby applied in July for his visa, under my sponsorship. At first the time frame seemed great but now it keeps getting extended. Now it says 14-20 months. We submitted photos, marriage certificate, birth certificates, passports, drivers licenses, police checks etc. we haven’t received any requests for more info nor does it say anything else is required. What could be the delay? Thanks so much

Hi

The best thing to do is to take it easy and sit back and continue to wait as you have been. We submitted my wife's 309/100 visa on 28th Feb this year. Exactly 1 month later she received a S56 notice - request for further particulars which were submitted 2 weeks later. Since then (8th April) we have not heard a thing - her case is marked "Further assessment".

My reading of forum threads would indicate that more often than not the Applicant never hears from DHA until receiving the grant (assuming that you have completed medical, biometrics and submitted all the police checks....I am told US citizens require State police checks as well as FBI).

If you have submitted a thorough and complete Application there is probably nothing that you will need to be contacted about and just wait for that magical email to arrive one day soon I hope

We used to worry about when...what if.....but we are enjoying the time where we are living and looking forward to the next chapter in Australia.

Good luck!

PS: You should have uploaded your divorce certificate. I would suggest that you apply for a copy and upload.

As the sponsor, I uploaded my divorce papers. I assume there was something that asked for it.

I didn't need to go to the court for it, as I had a copy, but it is also possible to download a copy these days.
