Please help.

Hi all. I am sorry for not doing a search for answers as Iím an exhausted new mother with zero patience or concentration or memory these days, so would love your feedback. I am Australian living in the USA and my hubby applied in July for his visa, under my sponsorship. At first the time frame seemed great but now it keeps getting extended. Now it says 14-20 months. We submitted photos, marriage certificate, birth certificates, passports, drivers licenses, police checks etc. we havenít received any requests for more info nor does it say anything else is required. What could be the delay? Thanks so much

Maybe there is a cap on number of family visas and the ceiling is just about to be reached.

The 2019-2020 budget mentioned --

Quote:
For the 2019-20 Migration Program, there will be 108,682 places in the Skill stream, 47,732 places in the Family stream, with a combined 3,586 places for Child and Special Eligibility streams.
So in theory, if there is such a cap, things slow down somewhat... like when so many people want to get into the cinema at the same time but there's only one door, and some are squeezed back.

Not sure how it's done via Tapatalk but...

1. Click on your username near top right - the one that says "Welcome, willbeoldandgrey."

2. Click "customize profile"

3. Click "edit your details" on the left side.

4. Change country of origin -- somewhere in the upper middle of the screen.

They don't have to tell us these days.
A decision can be made on your application as is.

That might be one reason for the substantially higher refusal rates compared to migration agent submissions.

That processing time that Immigration quote is sometimes confusing.
14-20 actually means that 15% get processed between 14 and 20 months
10% take over 20 months, and
75% (the majority) take under 14 months.

Even if half the visas took under 6 months, that would still come in within the 14-20 timing.

I looked at one visa group yesterday where it was 18-24, but the vast majority were under 13 months.

75% under 18 months
90% under 24 months
but
70% were actually under 13 months...

If your applying from America (USA) the majority of Applications get approved at 11.9 Months if you have a front loaded application, Medicals/Police check etc.
