801 Preparation

Hi guys,

We become eligible for 801 processing in late June. Unlike the 820 visa, there’s nowhere near as much information available on the process and what to do!

I’ve made a list of all the evidence I submitted for the 820, and as a minimum I’ll be providing the same evidence (updated of course; new insurances, updated bank statements etc).

I know we need a statement each and a minimum of two 888s too and have started to have friends and family work on these.

Are there any pitfalls or other requirements that are needed for the 801? Essentially I’m aiming to do a (mini) 820 application? Am I on the right path?

I did another complete set of evidences. I followed all of the four categories that they list. In essence, I did the 820 again; only with evidences from the grant of our 820 to present. I also have been updating every 2-3 months with current ongoing evidence. The only thing we haven't provided for the 801 are new AFPs, as they state they aren't needed if they were provided for the 820 (and of course, no medicals are required, plus we didn't do new Form 80s as they were provided for the 820). We did provide a new FBI check for my oldest son, as he's been at University in the USA for over 12 months now while we're awaiting grant of our 801 visa. So, in essence, give all of the same types of information you did for the 820, only updated for the 801.

Also, you'll do the online form for Stage 2, but your sponsor doesn't do one at this stage. S/he just needs to do the sponsorship stat dec (it's a specific form), which can be found on the website checklist. You may have to toggle the applicant/sponsor option at the top right of the website.
