How soon can I apply for Resident Return Visa (Subclass 155)

Hi everyone,

My name is Lisa and I'm Indonesian and a permanent resident in Australia.
My PR will be expired this November 2019.

The thing is, I'm gonna travel to Indonesia this June 2019, and stay for quite some times due to family matters, probably until early next year. This way, my PR will be expired when I'm overseas.

I've been living in Australia more than 2 years out of my 5-years PR, hence I'm aware that I should be applying for Subclass 155.

Can anybody please let me know if I could apply for RRV right now (Before my actual PR is expired)?

Or should I just travel to Indonesia and when my actual PR has expired, I should apply RRV from outside Australia (offshore)?

Thank you so much in advance!

Cheers

You can apply now. Make sure you have the RRV in place before you leave. Applying from overseas is not ideal.

Hi Lisa, have you submitted and got your approval? How long does it take to get the approval and did you need to provide any (police/med/etc) checks?
