Just a quick question and hope someone can help me please?
Ive just realised my Australian passport expires in March 2020 and I am visiting family in September for a special occasion and the passport will be 3 days short of having 6 months left on it.
Is this 6 months left on it from when I enter Australia or the date I leave Australia in September.
I am sponsoring my husband for a Partner Visa so would I have to go into his immi account once submitted to update my passport details when I apply for a new Australian passport?
I dont want to get this wrong!! Im in a bit of a panic now!!
CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE TO GET MY PASSPORT PHOTOS DONE IN THE UK PLEASE AS PHOTO BOOTHS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
Thank you so much! Xx
If you hold an Australian passport, and you are entering Australia, there is no requirement for it to have 6 months validity. Why not just renew your passport when you visit? It would be easier and probably cheaper.
Your only issue might be if you stop over on your trip, to a country that requires 6 months validity.
That can be covered if you also hold a valid UK passport.
Renewing in Australia would seem the better, and propably cheaper option.
This can be done very fast if needed. My daughter renewed hers the same day, for an extra cost.
Usually if you apply for a visa, the country you want to visit may turn down your visa application if your passport is expiring in 6 months time.
If you are sponsoring your partner, there is no need for you to update your new passport details on his application because you would have provided other forms of identification and evidence of your Australian status. But if you like, you can upload your new passport on his application via ImmiAccount.
