The applicant does not need to be outside Australia, during the processing, some arrive on a tourist visa, then leave to get the visa grant.

However, working in Australia on a visitor visa could cause deportation, and probably issues with the PMV finalisation.

Not a good idea to do.

Your change from the PMV to the 309 didn't seem to slow down your application then.

I would have thought that your son should get a visa in his own name. I assume one was applied for?

You should check that with Immigration. ASAP.

Does anyone have an idea when the new changes will be implemented on partner visa applications? (Sponsor needs to get approval first before applying)

Do these wait times get updated monthly on the IMMI website?

They get updated each month, once they have calculated the previous months visa processing and they know the actual times.

April 2019 processing was updated on the 23rd May 2019.
March 2019 processing was updated on the 26th April 2019.
