Final Question 801 - How has the relationship changed?

Hey guys,

Just curious to see how other people have answered the question regarding how has the relationship changed/developed.

It kind of feels like a trick question. We’ve continued in a relationship, committed to ashared life. Continued sharing finances, friends, live together etc. I mean we’re also engaged and will wed next month so assume I can put it this here?

Does anyone else feel their 801 statements are less extensive than their 820? 820 we were writing about how the relationship established from the beginning and the 801 is limited to the past 12 months?

Someone reassure me I’m not going crazy and looking into this too much

It is not a trick question, so you can just take the question on face value. Obviously after 2 years you have settled down a bit into a pattern and your relationship has become more established.

Your situation is the same like mine. We got engaged and getting married next month too. So when I applied for 801 around 10 months ago I said just that.

A few points I wrote;
1. Got engaged
2. Went overseas together
3. Parents came over to visit and stayed with us
4. Planning the wedding (attached invoices/conversation with wedding planner) we put 5,000 aud non-refundable deposit so definitely not faking it lol hahaha
5. Invoices/ photos from engagement party for 60 people

801 granted at 9 months mark. Good luck!

Congrats on the 801 grant! It makes me feel a little better that we could be over this process within a year. It’s draining.

So yeah, very similar circumstances between us. I was thinking of adding many of those details too.

Our wedding is overseas so will be including all those plane tickets and invoices and things we’ve paid for (who knew a wedding would be so damn expensive!!!), so hopefully $30k+ of invoices and travel bookings will give a solid base as to the nature of the relationship!

Also hoping that when I get back and have to file a change in circumstances to advise of the wedding, that maybe someone may just pull the file and approve the 801. Wishful thinking.

Good luck with the wedding next month

Ha! We are getting married overseas too. Before the grant I uploaded updated files contains flights, hotels, venue bookings so and so on.
I used PDF to combine them all into one file so it's easier for them to look through. I also attached itinerary of the whole trip and content page.
Oh and they can be super expensive we budgeted at 30k and have doubled it hahahah! Watch out for those bits and pieces for extra costs!

Good luck with yours too!
