Well I disagree with most of your points, and could pull up old threads to prove it, but not going to address them now.

As far as the comment to the post about advice being illegal, if you read it fully, you will see I was responding to their comment about it being illegal - it was meant to be tongue in cheek. I don't believe it should be illegal at all. I have never heard of such restrictions in the US.

Whether you believe it should be illegal or not is irrelevant, and it's equally irrelevant whether the US has similar restrictions or not. It states clearly on the application that if someone in Australia is providing migration advice and they are not a registered migration agent, they are committing a criminal offense and may be prosecuted.

Since I think we have more than fully answered the OP's question, I am closing the thread.
