Contributory Parent Visa 143 Waiting time

Hi there,

My family applied for the 143 contributory parent visa on June 2017.

According to the website of the immigration department, it is only assessing Visa up to July 2015.

When will my case be likely to be reached?

If they're working on 4-year-old applications right now, then probably it will take the same amount of time for them to reach your application as well.

From what I've read on forums, there was a huge influx of applications June/July 2015 so there's a significant backlog and the queue is now moving forward very slowly. It seems to take about 4 months to clear 1 month of the backlog so at that rate, it'll probably be at least 4 more years until they reach your application but likely to be longer.

l can't fathom the insanity of the fee for a parent visa , what could possibly justify fees like that apart from a money grab, and how does an average parent even find money like that for this.
Feel so bad for many because so many could not even go for it in the first place.

Sorry for the sidetrack op and l really wish you the best of luck anyway but time wise yeah , sounds like these guys could be about right sorry.
l did read you can track apps or call about it, if your game.

I think it is designed to keep the number of applicants down, as there is a very high demand for Parent Visas, but only a small number available to be issued.

A parent visa is available from about $4,000 but has a long waiting time, or around $50,000 for the faster visa routes.

it has been stucking with the

"Contributory Parent visa applications with a queue date up to August 2015 " for the past 6 months.

This is painful. Away from family, expensive, and when it comes to waiting, time passes very awfully slow.
