Thought I'd give this a try. If there's anyone here that lives in melbourne and your partner visa has already been approved, can you help me with mine....? Also I'm looking to find a friend here too.....

Hi aussie2be,

When are you planning to apply? I will apply next month and I'm in Melbourne too.
I know you want successful cases of people who already applied but I thought we could help each other somehow

I'm planning to apply some time in January, but would like to start gathering things now. Where are you in melbourne?

You definitely should start gathering evidence as soon as possible. I still have lots to do and I started months ago. I've been pretty lazy in the last few weeks though!

I'm in St Kilda, where about you? Each couple has different evidences of course. I'm a bit worried about my application cause I can't register my relationship and I went home for 2 months during our 12 months living together. So I'm planning to go to a lawyer in a couple of weeks so she can look my application and see if it's ok
I call tell you later on if she's good and if it's worth it.
What it's helping me a lot is to do a table of contents. You write it down everything you need to cover for your application like this:

1. THE APPLICANT
2. THE SPONSOR
3. HISTORY OF RELATIONSHIP
4. FINANTIAL ASPECTS
5. NATURE OF HOUSEHOLD
6. SOCIAL ASPECTS
7. NATURE OF COMMITMENT TO EACH OTHER

Then you list all the documents you need to cover each category. I'm listing all the documents I have then I write on the side if it's ready or if I need a certified copy or translation just for my own record. Do you know what I mean? Then you can start organising yourself. Hope that helps
