Hi to all...

please help me understand ...

if a baby is born outside Australia & if the parents (one of the parent is an Aussie citizen by descent) wanna bring the baby to Australia, it's the 101 form that has to be filled up right? besides that form, is there any other forms that need to filled up also? form 47CH (sponsorship for a child to migrate to Australia), form 40CH (Application for migration to Australia by a child)??

can the baby be brought to Australia on a tourist visa & apply for the visa inside Australia?

The more i read & search, the more i found so many things & the more i get confused & anxious...

thanks to anyone who can help explain to me...

Depending on the immigration history of the Australian citizen parent, it might be possible to apply for citizenship by descent for the child. May I suggest that you consult one of registered migrsation agents who posts on this forum?
I've never stayed in Australia & I've to stay in Australia for two years before the child can apply for citizenship by descent...

Hi. I've applied for an offshore partner visa for my long-term partner and included our child (8 months old) as an additional applicant on his application. I think it cost an extra $700 or so. Only lodged in June, so haven't heard anything yet
I thought we don't have to pay anything? I added a new born baby to my husband's application october 2018...still waiting.....

My personal experience a few years back, I am Australian, wife is Thai, child was 3 years old never been to Australia but had Australian by decent certificate. (i.e. a full Aussie as you are)

We applied for a visa for the wife, and as I hadn't gotten to get a passport for child figured I'd just get a tourist visa

Was refused and told a person (the child) with Australian citizenship (Aussie by decent) MUST enter on an Australian passport.
