May I ask, is there any option for me to extend the length of my stay in Australia?

Hello everyone

Below is my story,

I got my PTE test report on 26/June/2019 which meet the requirement for skilled nomination subclass 489 in South Australia. However, at the time, the state ceased to receive new applications just 1 day before I received my test report. I waited 1 week for the state to reopen for new applications but the conditions had change and I was not able to apply for skilled nomination subclass 489. I gave all my mind to redo PTE test and after 1 month, I achieved new score that allows me to apply for skilled nomination subclass 190.

However, I only have 2 months left before the expiration of my subclass 485 visa, which is on 9/10/2019. The time I have left with my current visa is shorted more than 4 weeks according to the processing time listed in the Government of South Australia website for skilled nomination subclass 190. And if my application is not finalised before my visa expiration, it will make the situation more complicated.

So, may I ask, is there anything of any type of visa that allow me to staying longer a bit for the department decision? I thought the tourist visas but these type are not allow me to work and this would make my situation not suitable for the 190 visa.

Any help is welcome and appreciated,

Thien Nguyen
