Global processing times update

Global processing times update for the month ending 31st August 2019:

For 300, 75% of all applications are processed under 17 months. 15% of applications are processed between 17 months and 22 months. Unfortunately, 10% of complicated applications have taken more than 22 months.

This means if you are lucky and your application is complete and not-complicated, you may still get a grant in few months. When they say 75% of applications are processed under 17 months, they are giving the 75th percentile point of the time distribution. There should be some applications processed in few months some in about one year and some in about 17 months.

Regards, SLB

Thanks for the info....but my concern really is I wanted to apply for tourist visa to visit my fiancee and I lodge my prospective marriage visa 300 last September 3 this year, my question are Do I need to wait for a case officer to call me so I can inform her/him that im planning to apply for a tourist visa? If I apply without informing the case officer, will it have a bad effect to my pmv application? What kind of tourist visa i should applied for? Thank you and your help will be much appreciated...

You can apply for a visitor visa, subclass 600, at any time.

We applied after we did the medicals and police checks, and submitted full reason for why we wanted the visitor visa while waiting for the 300 to be processed.

We did not wait to be contacted. Some applicants are not contacted until the final visa decision. Hence, no point waiting.

You can apply for a tourist visa at any time. However, you should provide sufficient evidence to show that you are a genuine tourist to grant a tourist visa. Visiting your fiancee while waiting for a 300 visa may not be a good enough reason.
