820/801 - Form 80 International Travel

Hey all,

I've got a question on Form 80, more specifically Part E - Question 18 (International Travel/Movements). I've travelled extensively in the past 10 years so I've got a huge list at the moment and I'm trying to decipher whether or not I need to include my home country (Sweden) in this list.

Initially, the form says "Have you travelled to any country other than Australia in the last 10 years?" which makes it seem like I need to include Sweden. Then it says "Include work or study outside your usual country of residence" which makes it seem like Sweden is not to be included. To top it off, it follows with "Include visits back to your own country" which turns the table again.

Does anybody have any tips on what to do here? Do I include every time I returned to Sweden from having been travelling (and subsequently make the list almost double in size)?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Julia

Give them all the information and think yourself lucky.
Not long ago they wanted yo know what applicant had been doing for the past 30 years.

I had the similar 'problem' of having travelled a lot. I decided to only include countries I travelled to outside Europe. That was still a long list, but at least doable. It would be nearly impossible to include all the weekend trips and such within Europe. I just made clear on the form that this is what I did. I figure that if they had questions they would let me know. I didn't receive a question or remark on this.

As to your specific question: my understanding of the wording was that you do not have to include your country of residence.

I included my country of origin while it was not my country of residence. In other words, during the period you lived in Sweden you only list travel to other countries, but when you lived elsewhere include your travel back to Sweden.

May be overkill but seems most consistent with the comments/questions.

I had about 200 entries.
