It costs nothing for a preliminary assessment and if an application is viable a quote costs nothing either. You can find out by going to my website pinoyau.com and using the contact form.

The cost has risen substantially in recent years, possibly to try to cut down the number of applicants. In 2011 it was $1,735.

Some people applied for a partner visa just to get international student fees down.
That, ladies and gentlemen... is inflation/10! Wow! haha

A friend of mine just spent $12k on partner visa "everything included" (with agent). They are both onshore.

The "everything" could be a variable. The agent doesn't usually include the cost of a medical in Australia for those onshore. that's close to $400. It also doesn't usually cover the cost of a police report for one or both of the partners.

I had spent more than 12 months in my partner's country, living with her, and I had to get a police report both from Australia and her country and all up, that was not cheap.

We spent roughly $9300 on agent and fee, then we needed police certs from AU ($84) and UK ($90 roughly) plus medical over in the UK ($600 roughly).

All up just over $10K.... the price of love hey! Haha

The visa fees have been increasing a lot over the years though. in 2019 it was 7k, now it's 7.7k

I guess it depends on police report cost for each countries, mine only cost $10...

If you're not using an agent, for just necessary application cost, partner visa cost itself it $7.7k, medicals $300-400, police check varies.

Australian police report is about $60, so 2 of those

Philippines was expensive. I had to get fingerprints done here and send all results with ID and documents. All up, with postage etc. was about $250

It's all the little bits and pieces adding on to the basic cost that makes it so expensive. A lot to lose if your application is rejected!
