If you all knew that two people had faked a marriage and openly brag about it, would you report them? Edited to add : cheers for all te support. I didn't bother to do it anonymous. Gave all details as I'm not hiding wat I've done. I know I will lose a few friendships but am too long in the tooth to be associating wit people who can't see how wrong it all is.

It is your duty to report it, if you have the facts correct, ie you can support your claims. Remember though unsubstantiated scurrilous allegations can have extremely serious repercussions on innocent people.

Very very well should we say. He has told me all about it after a few tipples. I really do like him as a person but I'm sickened at the lies he has fabricated and the fact he has married a woman to help her stay in the country. What would you do? Would immigration even bother to follow it up?
I understand how you feel, but thousands of people go to great lengths to do the right thing. People doing the wrong thing just makes it tougher for those who are not.

They should be ashamed instead of bragging about it. Do your citizen's duty and report them. I can't say what Immigration will do, but I feel confident that they'd follow it up. They chase lots of illegal stayers, etc.

People like that are the reason that many genuine couples have to wait longer, produce more evidence of relationship etc.

They are the reason that the immigration department are blamed for not doing things faster.

Morally, we should think of the innocent first, not the guilty.

Immigration do follow up. A news report, not that long ago, mentioned an Australian Border Force investigation led to 164 marriage visas being cancelled.

Thank you for all you"re opinions. I know deep down it is very wrong. I think I feel torn because I know he is a good guy and he has tried to do the right thing by helping her. I don't think brag was the right word. I've never really seen them together I just know a friend of hers said she has no remorse at all and thinks because she did try to stay legally she has a right to stay on his visa even though it is all a total sham as he's even now in a really serious relationship. I don't get how they haven't been found out. I have friends who went for partner visas and they spent so long providing evidence and took years to get theor visas. These two seemed to happen so fast and they both seem to have gotten away with it completely. I know I should report them. I just don't want to be responsible for ruining two lives as I have no idea of their finances or other circumstances and it seems wrong to cause such a disruption

It seems wrong, with the limitation on partner visa numbers being available, that a genuine applicant might get passed over, so that a fake applicant is rewarded with a visa instead.

A genuine applicant, reading this right now, might be the one who goes without a visa because of a fake application getting through.

The genuine applicant might be the one to suffer instead.

Get him to brag about it again and record it on your phone as evidence. Immigtation will follow through. They always do. I have been watching cbs reality on border security and they really do follow these tip offs
