Can you talk to the Case Manager? Tourist Visa 600

Hi my partner has applied for a tourist visa 600 and its coming close to 3 months by end of october.

Its well outside the processing times. has anyone else waited this long?

Just wondering if its possible to talk to a case manager or someway to escalate it or find out any estimate processing times? Weve been told if they wanted to ask for more info they wouldve, and they did back in early september for a form 80. So im assuming they just need to make a decision? but three months for a tourist visa seems a bit long, even if the max processing times on the website say a month max

3 months is a long time, but you have had issues before, with an ETA refused? And wanting the visitor visa to be able to go for a partner visa subclass 820?

These are things that could create issues with a visitor visa application, especially the part about proving the intention not to stay.

A good application might be able to get around that, but a basic one might get rejected, or just take longer (as maybe in your case).

I am not sure how helpful this will be, but the number for Immigration General Enquiries is 131 881. Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
They say: Use this general enquiries number to: <...> contact departmental officers

If they have asked for a form 80, there may be character concerns, which may have been referred to the Visa Applicant Character Consideration Unit (VACCU) for further assessment. This can take a long time due to high demand. Don't waste your time with the 13 number.

Hi, thanks for that. Yeah he does have some character issues. He was here last year on an ETA that he qualifies for, he accidentally hit the wrong answer on the next ETA which is why it was denied and we are going for this tourist visa to visit here again. However we do have an agent who is helping us as well, even they advise with the character issues hes eligible for the ETA eg the rule about 12 months charges thing. I guess we are just anxious, since hes been here before already we thought that would help?

We submitted the application 31 of july, and we got requested for the form 80 pretty soon after that? maybe few weeks or so? and we sent everything back. I guess just little worried or wondering what we can do, if anyone is in a similar situation or who we can talk to to find out how long it will take to make a decision.

If you have a registered migration agent, it may be best to let them deal with it. From what you are saying it seems most likely that the application has been referred to the Character Unit anyway. The VACCU recently emailed me re. one of my clients, advising about the long delays.

Yeah we are unfortunately they havent provided us with much information. what you said is actual helpful if it has been referred to the character unit thankyou they havent even told us that much.

Our agents have emailed twice but said they received no response. I was just wondering if you dont mind me asking, when you got the email did they advise an eta of the delays at all?

I contacted the processing centre to inquire about the long delay and they came back with the explanation. It took a few efforts to get a response. I didnít want to escalate at this stage, as that sometimes results in a quick refusal.
