This really should have been covered in your initial consultation... you should clarify the issues with your agent as it’s relatively complex. After lodging the visa application, you will be granted a BV. That BV comes into effect when your current visa expires. If your current visa is cancelled before it expires, so is the BV.

A bridging visa is tied to a visa you have/had.

Cancel that visa and the Bridge is gone.

That simple.

It is not tied to a future visa - but only in time to the future visa is decided is that bridge valid.

If ether end of the bridge fails - you end up in deep water.

Thank you guys. I got it now. Cancellation is not an option. Looks like I might need to invest in another consultation to sort this one out..
