Transition from subclass 500 visa to 485 visa

Hi all

I am completing my bachelor's degree on 22/11/2019. My student visa expires in March 2020. How soon can I apply for the 485 visa after receiving a letter of course completion from my university? Once I apply for the 485 I am guessing I remain on my current student visa until I am granted the 485 visa...? My intention is to apply for a subsequent entrant visa for my wife so just need to get off the subclass 500 visa and onto the 485. Also is it wise to apply for a visitor visa for my wife? (Intention is to apply for one this November 2019) so I could spend the holidays with her at least.. and she could also attend my graduation. Any help you can offer is appreciated.

If you satisfy the remaining criteria, immediately.
Your guess is wrong. You would be on a bridging visa.
If you want specific advice about a visitor visa, it might pay you to consult one of the registered migration agents who, posts on this forum.
