Citizenship Ceremony

Hello everyone,

I got my citizenship application approved in September this year and I am waiting for the ceremony. Can I travel outside Australia before my ceremony? If I can, do I need to inform the immigration department.

Best,
tanhu

Hello-

Didn't you receive a document explaining this when you sat your citizenship test?

I got a document which states: "You must advise the Department of any confirmed travel dates. Overseas travel prior to your ceremony is generally permissible." I advised my case officer of my travel plans before I sat the test. I'm not sure the proper method to notify them after that, but obviously there is a way.

There is a lot more information on this single-page document too, so dig it up if you still have it.
