Form SP40

Hi everyone, I scrolled through the forum in order to find an answer to my question. But as things regarding the sponsor have changed often recently, I'd like to make sure I'm up to date and do the right thing.

I just lodged my 820 and uploaded most of my attachments, still finalizing it. I’m confused though with the sponsor’s part. Especially the SP40 form. As far as I figured out, the paper form doesn't have to be uploaded anymore, right? Even though, it's still mentioned in the recommended attachments? If not, he can do it online, here my question: Does he have to open his own immi account or is that through mine?
Also, is it necessary to upload his birth certificate? What attachments are really important for the sponsor's part?

Thanks in advance for all your help.
Seline

You can lodge the online 40sp using your account.

am facing the same issue, some people say to fill out the 40sp form and upload it normally with the rest of the attachments,
some say to link your sponsor to your application through the TRN and fill the online application am thinking of actually doing them both.
if you find any solid info regarding this please let me know.

Regarding the important attachments, for the sponsor part i did attach the birth certificate as well as copies from sponsor's passport and Drivers licence.

The solid answer is you do it online. They are only accepting the online version for nearly 2 years.
The problem is when people do research they often forget to take into account the age of the information they are looking at

ImmiAccount: New application > Family > Sponsorship for a Partner to Migrate to Australia.

It is still possible in special circumstances to lodge a paper application, but finding the current forms is no mean feat.

Information found in immigration publications, including websites, is often superficial, incomplete, outdated, and sometimes wrong.
