Hello guys. My pmv 300 was granted August 2019 (applied on 10/01/2019). Our wedding was last November and now I’m almost done with all docs and getting ready to apply for the 820. I have some questions about the next visa.

When I pay for my 820, will I change my visa to a bridging visa till I get my 820 granted, right? And the waiting room is around 24 months? And after 2 years on my 820 I can apply for my permanent residency, which will be around 4 years?

And last question: can I travel overseas on this bringing visa? We are going to our honeymoon end of February, so if I can’t go overseas I need to wait and apply later

I think that’s all for know

Thank you all for loads of information. I did my visa myself reading the forum

Your PMV will still be valid until it expires. (May 2020?)
The bridging visa kicks in when the PMV expires.

The processing time for the 820 from the 300 is pretty fast. Some are just a couple of months.

You do the 801 part two years after you APPLY for the 820. Not after it is granted.

Just thought I would mention. Our 820 was granted before the 300 expired, so the Bridging visa, although granted when we did the 820 application, was never even activated.

To start my 820 application, coming from a pmv 300, should I start as a new visa application? Or on my immi account there's a section where I can move to Another stage on my visas?
Use your current IMMI account and start a new application.

It will be the same one as the 300 though, but a new one.

Stage 1 again... (not stage 2 yet, that comes later), and don't forget the sponsor one again..
