Question Application for 820, BVA question

Hello everyone ,

I have an important question about the application for Partner Visa 820 and the consequent Bridging Visa A. My current visa expires at the end of April this year. Therefore I will need to apply for 820 before then and require the BVA to stay here.

If I understood correctly, you apply online, fill the forms, pay the fees and then upload all of the documents. My main question is, can I upload documents AFTER I get the BVA?

Consequently, if I don't need to upload all documents straight away, which ones are necessary/required for the BVA?

If I don't need to upload everything straight away, it would greatly reduce my stress levels. Then ideally, I would upload the remainder of my documents 2-3 weeks after I submit the application. I already started gathering them, and will dedicate all my time from Feb onwards for this, but extra time would be extremely useful.

This application means so much to me and I want all documents to be relevant, neat and flawless (a.k.a. perfect :') ).

Thank you so much, this forum has helped me a lot. People who help on here truly improve lives.

Daisy

Thank you for the information

I assume that I automatically get the BVA and that I don't need to lodge a separate application for it? Do you have any idea about the processing times for the BVA? (on the Department of Home Affairs website it says that processing times are unavailable for this visa)

I was thinking about submitting it about 2 weeks before the expiry of my current visa but I am not sure if this is too tight?

No need to lodge a BVA application. You'll get an automatic grant for the BVA as soon as you submit your 820 visa, but it will be inactive until your current visa expires.
I'm in the same boat as you and have gone through that stage
