485 Visa Post Study Work stream

Hi,

I met my wife in Australia and we are both in student visa right now.My SV will expire in March 15 and her SV will expire July 22. I'm going to apply for 485 visa this coming march and I will include my wife in my application. Will her student visa be cancelled once we applied for my 485?

Thanks!

If she is granted another visa, it would replace the visa she holds.
You should perhaps be seeking information about the contractual obligation with the course provider.

Hi Wrusel, Thanks! I may have used wrong word in my first reply but to clarify, her student visa will not be cancelled but instead will be replaced by the new visa then the new visa will take effect. is that right?

also, what do you mean by contractual obligation?

Thanks! I understand. So once the bridging visa takes effect for the both of us, then her 485 was not granted then her visa will be reverted back to student visa. is that right?

Also, would you know if do we need to still prove our relationship if when we apply for 485 we just got married? like 1 month before we apply the visa.
