Offshore/onshore? Help!

Hi all! My wife has PR and we want to make the move to australia however her return residents visa expires in around 7 months, so is offshore not an option for us as I understand the process is currently alot longer than that?

She has already has had it extended by one year and wondered if there is any solution this?

We could attempt an onshore application but it states she must usually reside in Australia which she has not.

I currently don't have anywhere near enough points to go on my own merit.

Another issue is that she has family there now and the rest of her close family intend to move there within the next few years so she really does not want to be left behind on her own so major anxiety.

Thanks!

May I suggest that you consult one of the registered migration agents who posts on this forum for advice about strategy?

How long has your wife lived in Australia in the past 5 years she had her PR? I'm assuming not much as all since she was only granted a 1 year RRV which means she hasn't met her residency requirements. If she wants to keep her PR she will need to move to Australia before her RRV expires OR she will need to prove to the government she has substantial ties to Australia to be granted another RRV.

In terms of a partner visa, you will likely have to wait till your wife has lived in Australia for a year or two before she is eligible to sponsor you.

This is not the case.

Thanks for the responses! Agent informs us it shouldn't be an issue but I'm still quite nervous about it.

What are you told shouldn't be an issue? Moving to Australia now or lodging an offshore RRV? Or lodging an offshore RRV and offshore Partner visa?

Is your agent a registered migration agent? If not, I suggest that you retain the services of an agent who is registered.
