Please update your flag here .

I want to travel overseas tp see meet my dad who had a small accident and surgery i have booked my tickets for 10 March to 10 April confirmed tickets. However my agent is telling me that its better to apply bridging visa B on 3 rd March and so i will be granted on the next day and i will have 28 days to travel from the day it is granted so I have to change my return tickets according to the expiry of bridging visa B. I thought we can apply bridging visa anytime and the immigration will give visa after the date of my return flight.

The OP cannot apply for a RRV if they haven't gotten their PR visa yet.

@Sam, as far as I know, BVBs are usually issued for 3+ months although it's possible to have shorter ones. If it was my application, I would submit it now rather than waiting so close to your travel dates, as I don't think they're always granted the next day. In the application I'd explain that I am travelling to visit my father who is recovering from surgery following an accident, and I'd provide the dates of travel plus copies of the flight booking so hopefully you'd get at least a 3-month BVB.
