309 Partner Visa Application questions

Hey Guys,

First off, thanks for all the great information on this site. It has helped us a lot so far.

My Vietnamese wife and I have just 1 question which I couldn't find the information for -

- We have both written relationship statements for her 309 visa application, we just need to know if these need to be authenticated and/or have signatures witnessed? Or is it possible to just upload these as is with just our signatures (not witnessed)?

We are both currently living in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and the consulate here is unable to tell us what we need and we don't want to wait for a maybe answer from DFAT in Australia by filling in their contact form because we lodged our application on Sunday 8th March 2020 and want to upload this ASAP.

Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

Statutory declaration is the way to go ... there’s a template and a list of approved witnesses here: https://www.ag.gov.au/Publications/S...claration.aspx

Thanks for your reply. We have already structured our statements around the template there with our statements between. Do we need to get this just witnessed or authenticated? We booked an appointment at the consulate for authenticating a document and not a witnessing signature (I can change this though) just wonder which one it is?

Witnessed by an appropriate person.
